International Design Meets French Riviera Luxury: Ralph Lauren Home at the Palais Maeterlinck

Luxury residences for sale on the French Riviera

In an unique collaboration with Ralph Lauren Home, the redesign and renovation of the historical Palais Maeterlinck in Nice will see the stunning estate transformed into 19 luxury residences offering the very best in services and style.

The property was originally built in the 1920s by the Compte de Milléant who wanted to create a prestigious destination close to Nice which would rival the Casino of Monte Carlo. The project was abandoned but the sprawling home was later bought by Belgian Nobel Prize-winning writer Maurice Maeterlinck who named it Villa Orlamonde and invited many illustrious guests to stay, creating an elite destination for international artists and socialites. Between 1990 and 2008 the estate was open to the public as a Grand Hotel but it was the purchase of the property for €48 million last year by Czech billionaire Radovan Vitek which has paved the way for its latest incarnation.

Gomis Architects, who are behind the development of the exclusive homes, have created a selection of apartments ranging from 100m2 to 600m2 which will cost between €25,000 and €40,000 per square metre, prices rarely seen even on the prestigious Côte d’Azur. Each apartment has southern exposure and a private terrace while many also boast their own private pools. The estate is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens which offer both tranquillity and privacy yet the convenient location ensures easy access to the international airport as well as being a short drive from all of the most exclusive destinations along the Rivera such as Monaco, Cannes and Saint Tropez.

In addition to purchasing a stunning home on a historical estate, buyers will also have the unprecedented opportunity to have their property custom designed by Ralph Lauren Home. The interior decoration branch of the American design brand is renowned for its elegant style and sophistication as well as its high-quality furniture and accessories. The company have decorated the VIP lounge as well as two show apartments to offer potential buyers inspiration for their homes.

The residences have been specifically  aimed at wealthy buyers who wish to own a prestigious seafront property on the Côte d’Azur without the responsibilities of maintaining a large villa. Aside from the wide selection of bespoke services on offer including concierge, private chef, personal trainer and beauticians, there is also the fabulous central swimming pool, one of the largest on the French Riviera, which is flanked by 20m high columns.
