Review: The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler

I chose to stay at The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler, which is in an excellent location, right next to the mountain gondola, and next to the driving range of the golf course (the latter of which is obviously closed during winter). My room had a view over the driving range, and I could see the heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub – perfect for gauging when to go down …

The words “winter wonderland” have become cliché, but this is what Big White Ski resort is – a Canadian winter wonderland. If you want the Canadian winter experience without the punishingly freezing temperatures, this is the place to come.

Inn at a Laurel Point: Sustainable Way to Enjoy Victoria

From my balcony at the Inn at Laurel Point, the blue water of the harbour is tranquil and quiet. Below I can see the hotel’s Japanese garden, boats moored in the harbour and the newer glass and steel structures that now line the water’s edge. Breaking the tranquillity is the sound of an air craft engine – a float plane is coming into land on the harbours calm water. I love watching them fly in.

C Restaurant: a taste of Vancouver

Vancouver is a city that has much to offer apart from the beautiful scenery it is a centre for food and a visit to this city of sea and mountains can’t be complete without dining at C, a eatery that calls it’s self ‘Vancouver’s most progressive sea food restaurant.
