Duck & Waffle, the newest ‘it-restaurant’, serves up high-altitude eating

Duck and Waffle 2 -5

Duck & Waffle may have only opened last month, but it has already established itself as one of London’s leading, and most in demand, restaurants. Set on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower, it offers exceptional seasonal cuisine with 360-degree panoramic views of London. What could possibly be better?

The restaurant, operated by Samba Brands Management (the same good people who have brought Sushi Samba to the very same building), is under the deft hands of head chef Daniel Doherty, who laces his seasonal British cuisine with European influences, although the best course of all has to be that view…

Designed by New York-based architects, Duck & Waffle features an open kitchen, curved banquette leather seating, large wooden tables and floor to ceiling windows, befitting of a place with such newly granted prestige. The playful, yellow, wavy ceiling panels are inspired to resemble a waffle, alongside white marble tables, rustic metals, weathered wood and antique ceramic tiles. Some of its already signature dishes include bacon wrapped figs; Duck & Waffle with fried duck egg & mustard maple syrup; and Torrejas with maple caramel apples.
