You always know when you have walked into somewhere special- somewhere where you can tell you are about to experience the best of what London’s luxury beauty spa industry has to offer. This is how I felt when stumbling into the Carol Joy London Draycott Avenue spa, rather dishevelled after a nightmare battle with London’s underground and a handbag spillage disaster. However, once greeted by the friendly, immaculate looking and softly spoken staff, stumbling turned to floating as I was offered refreshment and a comfortable seat while they prepared what I could only imagine would be a stunning treatment room judging by the exquisite reception area.
Having recovered from my manic journey, my bottle of Perrier and I floated excitedly down the stairs and into the room where I knew I was about to experience something extraordinary. The treatment room was everything I had imagined- elegant and polished to perfection and as I lay down in anticipation of what was to come, I felt a serene calmness pour over me.
First came a thorough consultation to establish my personal skin concerns in order to tailor the treatment to meet my skin’s needs. This is so important especially if, like me, you have endured problems with your skin throughout your entire life and feel slightly concerned about how any third party interference may effect it. Then the 90 minute facial began- the facial consists of three main components- a cleansing steam, diamond head infusion for a deep exfoliation followed by the specialised Carol Joy intensive face, neck and shoulder massage. After all this, a hydrating mask is then applied to the face, leaving the skin visibly bright and moisturised.
All of Carol’s products contain the finest ingredients from diamond dust to golden millet oil. The diamond is the symbol jewel of England and since ancient times has been credited with healing properties and restoring balance, particularly in the skin. Diamond dust is considered to be one of the most precious Litho cosmetic components on the planet and is said to boost micro circulation and reflect natural light for ultimate radiance. Golden Millet Oil has been clinically proven to enhance the condition of the skin, hair and nails and has been integrated into every product in the Carol Joy collection.
After being cleansed, steamed and massaged to my heart’s content, I awoke to smooth, refined and calm skin and having completely departed from the frantic and flustered creature who had arrived an hour and a half earlier. I was now composed, relaxed, thoroughly pampered and ready to take on the world and the effects on my skin were immediately visible.
