Today marks the start of the voting stage for the 2011 London Lifestyle Awards. Committee member Sinitta was the first to cast her vote by stepping into the voting cab to pick her favourite London businesses and people in categories ranging from Best Bar to Outstanding contribution in London. 4,253 businesses and lifestyle industry members were nominated for a London Lifestyle Award this year and a shortlist has been drawn up by founder Jason Gale and his committee.
Sinitta, one of the committee members said “I am very excited to be on the committee for the London Lifestyle Awards and was delighted to be the first one able to cast my votes for the 2011 awards. We live in such a fantastic city which offers a great lifestyle environment and over the years I have grown increasingly proud and appreciative of the range of lifestyle London has to offer. The shortlist is full of great businesses and people who deserve our recognition that work so hard to keep the London Lifestyle one that should be celebrated. “
Last year 100,000 public votes were cast and it’s believed that this year that figure will be increased dramatically due to the huge success of last year’s awards. Jason Gale creator of the London Lifestyle Awards said “the 2010 awards were absolutely fantastic, it was our first awards and I was delighted with how the London public got behind it, the event itself was a very glamorous evening where many celebrated faces joined us for the ceremony. I cannot wait for the event this year as it already feels even bigger and better than last year.
The London Lifestyle Awards, presented by View London in association with Entertainment News, were established to honour those lifestyle businesses in the capital whose work has made an outstanding contribution to London and the lifestyles within. Featuring 18 categories from London Club of the Year to Green Contribution to London, the London Lifestyle Awards raise the profile of the businesses that make London the unique and exciting city it is. Launched in 2010 the awards are quickly establishing themselves as the definitive awards to celebrate London lifestyle.
