Girls might have to start hunting for a slightly cheaper best friend. Jewellery couturier, Azature, the self-declared ‘Black Diamond King’ has produced a one-of-a-kind, exclusive bottle of diamond infused lacquer, setting you back an outstanding $250,000.
Dangerously dark and delicious in colour, the varnish has outbeaten Model’s Own $130,000 Gold Rush Couture shade for the renowned title of the most expensive nail polish in the world. What makes it so special we hear you ask? The polish itself contains 267 carats of black diamond.
Hollywood-based Azature, whose jewellery has adorned stars such as Rihanna and Beyonce at the recent 2012 New York Met Gala Ball, has called the black diamond the ultimate fine jewel. In a press release, he stated: “I developed a Black Diamond Nail Polish with the same attention and quality as my jewellery in order to preserve the elegance of the black diamond.”
The self-declared ‘Black Diamond King’ designs couture-inspired jewellery, informed by his own vast influences ranging from the craftsmanship and mythology of ancient relics and religion and his own cultural heritage and family history, to modern pop icons such as Madonna. Increasingly popular amongst A-Listers for his appealing decadence and dangerous deviation from the classic diamond, Azature’s intricately handcrafted designs reek of elegance and the obscure regions of high fashion.
