24k gold danced in our champagne flutes as delectable nibbles circulated and glasses clinked in the sun-lit Lugia room at the Mandarin Oriental last Monday. Why so exquisite, one may ask? An eclectic mix of people including fashionistas, financiers, journalists, press and friends had come together to celebrate the launch of The Nth Degree Club Book, the debut coffee table edition from London’s foremost private dining society, The Nth Degree Club.
The fabulous turn out included nearly all whom contributed to the final product, whether through lending their time to be interviewed and featured (Maria Kempinska, Dona Ida, Jason Li) or those whom dedicated many hours to making the book a reality (Andie Jones, Brett Burbridge, Callum Walton).
A simply stunning, A3-sized publication, The Nth Degree Club Book is a hard back, keepsake guide to private dining rooms and members clubs in London. No doubt aspirational to those who are yet to experience the benefits of the Nth Degree Club, the book will also provide endless hours of culinary inspiration. Preoccupied with the visually pleasing aspect one has come to expect from fine dining experiences, the selection of mouthwatering and intriguing photography act to provide a glance into some of the most impressive and exclusive bars and restaurants in London.
If knowledge of the Nth Degree Club has yet to permeate your consciousness, the Club was incepted in 2012 and is run by Bob Walton, MBE. As President of the Restaurant Association Bob has utilized his professional and personal relationships with many of the UK’s top chefs to create exquisite dining experiences for a membership as eclectic and varied as the book launch attendees. Currently, members include jeans designer Donna Ida, top sports personalities such as Kenny Logan and businessmen like Sir John Majeski. Ultimately, the aim is to provide access, entertain and stiumlate taste buds in some of the most exquisite private dining rooms in London – innumerable of which exist unbeknown to many.
