For more than 100 years, Montblanc has been known for its high quality writing instruments – most famously, the Meisterstück (‘masterpiece’) fountain pen, which was first produced in 1924 and has become the most iconic pen in the world. In the past few years, the company has expanded its product range fairly significantly, to include precious fine and silver jewellery, exclusive swiss-made watches, premium leather goods, eyewear and fragrances.
So it will come as no surprise that Montblanc has just announced a limited edition leather accessories collection – the Montblanc Meisterstück Selection – designed in collaboration with Harrods, and featuring four distinctive pieces in British Racing Green. The collection will be available from Harrods Great Writing Room from May 2013.
The headlining piece is the Meisterstück Selection Briefcase (main picture), precisely hand-crafted in genuine alligator leather, and adorned with a diamond-encrusted clasp. This striking, one-of-a-kind case will be available at a price of £31,000.
Further products in the collection include a tablet / iPad cover, crafted from the finest lambskin, and finished with a discreet, matching leather clasp and subtle Montblanc logo. Just 50 of the tablet covers will be produced, at a price of £470 each.
Complementing this are an elegant wallet at £185 and an iPhone 5 case at £175, both of which will be available in British Racing Green lambskin, in limited quantities of 100 pieces each.
Each of these items will be hand-made in Montblanc’s Pelletteria in Florence, Italy, by artisans using the highest grade materials, resulting in individual pieces that are likely to become highly sought-after all round the world.
The launch of this collection also coincides with the reopening of Harrods’ celebrated Writing Room (now called the Great Writing Room), and an exhibition of the Montblanc Writers Edition Collection pens, which takes place at Harrods from 15 May to 15 June 2013.
