History behind our name…In Old French ‘Comte des Cierges’ (pronounced Com de C’erge) literally translates to ‘Keeper of the Candles.’ This was the title given to the servants of French noblemen, who were responsible for the heating and lighting of their residence(s). As the ‘Comte de Cierges’ became a more established role, the job evolved to encompassing more duties and responsibilities, essentially leading to them organising practically anything and everything that their noblemen required. Over time this title became abbreviated to ‘concierge’. CDC Lifetyle may seem a far-cry from this origin, but our basic objective remains, to maintain and continue to both provide and shed light where it is required and we will soon be rolling out a series of additional complimentary services to meet our noble readers’ every requirement.
